The royal family is headed by his mother, Rajmata Priyamvada. After coming back, he gets to know that their family is in debt to Govind Seth who is that region’s richest money lender. He has a beautiful daughter, Gayatri, who is attracted to Ranaji, played by Drashti Dhami. Gayatri is an ordinary, chirpy, and innocent girl. Her parents are always worried about her marriage. Ranaji and Gayatri meet many times, but Ranaji is unaware of her identity.

Finally, Rajmata goes to Govind Seth and strikes a deal to get Ranaji and Gayatri married in return for the compensation for debt. He agrees to it as Gayatri loves Ranaji, but she is unaware of Ranaji’s hatred. Ranaji is still in love with his dead wife. Gayatri realizes that becoming a queen does not mean to have a happy ending. She was a manglik with no future. The story is about the girl Gayatri from being an ordinary girl who had lots of dreams which did not meet the reality to a queen. Later, she wins Ranaji’s heart and become his queen. She also wins every people’s heart of Ameerkot and especially those in the Raj Mahal. Even after everything being okay between Ranaji and Gayatri, they have to fight through many things. They have to face many problems, but they always stay together. Ranaji even forgets who Gayatri is.

She has returned back to Ameerkot after many years. She has her grandmother with her. She had a childhood friend who is the prince of Ameerkot, Kunwar Rajveer Singh aka Raja. The second season is about their love story.

Season I had Drashti Dhami in many different types of characters, from a simple Gayatri to Rani Gayatri, then Savitri who is a village belle, and finally a warrior. Season I also had Jayna Tida, Darshan Jariwala, Astha Agarwal, Abhiram Nain, Anita Raj, Akshay Anand, Surekha Sikri, Puneet Sharma, Vineet Sharma, Priya Tandon, etc.

Season II has Zaan Khan, Anita Raj, Poonam Preet, Anjum Fakih, Akshay Anand, Parul Chaudhary, Shivangi Sharma, Chetan Hansraj, etc. In the current episodes, Raja and Rani are having a love- hate relationship.
