Vz 24 Serial Numbers
24 rifle is a bolt-action carbine designed and produced in Czechoslovakia from 1924 to 1942. Based on serial numbers of surviving rifles. VZ-24 knife and matching sheathe. E-23 with serial number of C-5896 Z with circle Lions crest with circle. Blade is upward on rifle. Quik latch mini install. Wood and blade are excellent. The Vz (Vzor or Model) 24 was produced from 1924 until 1942, when the factory was changed over to K.98k production. Rifles made for the Czech Army will have the year of production on the left side of the receiver ring, but ones made for other nations usually don't.
- The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “E small lion 31” and “vz 24”. The right side of the receiver is marked with a small Czech stamping. The top of the bolt handle is marked with the serial number.
- Hi, I'm a new member and have purchased my first CZ, a model 27. Is there a place on the forum where I can find out serial numbers and dates of production.
- The receiver is scrubbed of the crest as well as the original serial number (I think) but has been re-stamped with a different number. It still has the 'Zbrojovka Brno, A.S. Markings on the receiver side wall. The bolts serial TR2837 leads me to believe at least the bolt was from a Romanian contract rifle.
- On the flip side, in my experience the Yugo's have great overall tolerances and I mean from the model 1924's straight on to the 24/52's, the B.O.' S and even the captured K98's - if the Yugos put the barrel on then its a good barrel dimensionally.
So I recently traded one of my Mosin Nagants for a Czech Vz24 Mauser in 8mm. The rifle is in good shape but while trying to identify the user I've hit a wall. I don't know if there are any Czech rifle experts on here but it's worth a shot.
Vz24 Serial Numbers
The receiver is scrubbed of the crest as well as the original serial number (I think) but has been re-stamped with a different number. It still has the 'Zbrojovka Brno, A.S. VZ.24.' markings on the receiver side wall. The bolts serial TR2837 leads me to believe at least the bolt was from a Romanian contract rifle. The receiver serial is hard to read exactly what it is and the numbers look like ones you would see on Russian Nagants.
Romanian Vz 24 Serial Numbers
Is it possible that this is a Romanian contract rifle that was captured and re-numbered by the Russians?
What I see for the serial is FS16 17-- but I'm not 100% sure.
Sorry for the potato pictures. It was the best I could do in my bad lighting rental.
